Left Behind debuts to Canadian national audience.

Left Behind had its world television premier in May 2003, when CBC Television broadcast the film nationwide in Canada.

"You might think you've seen this kind of story before, but this is different," said Ian Hanomansing, host of CBC's popular weekly public affairs program Foreign Assignment. In introducing Left Behind to his national audience, he called it "a touching and intimate portrait of the youngest victims of Africa's AIDS epidemic."

The network repeated the broadcast numerous times over a three-day period and reported it produced an outpouring of public sympathy for the young subjects of the film.
